Lijiang

Bus ride was pretty sweet, nice scenery on the way. Had no idea where I had arrived as Lonely planets map of lijang is a joke. Went for a wander then rang a guesthouse, the famous Mama Naxis and they picked me up. Its in the old town of Lijiang which is nice with cobbled streets and no cars, but loads of tourists, most of them Chinese. Cheers Pete and Mike for the recommendation, its a sweet set up, food and more food the communal dinner just keeps coming. So full that night. Had a few beers that night with Ronan an Irish dude I have bumped into a few times.

Next day Ronan and I walked out to Black Dragon pool. On the way I filmed Ronan juggling under a giant statue of Chairman Mao. As usual there was a charge to enter the park and yet again my fake student ID from Khao San rd payed off :D. Already saved the money that it costed. Went to wander up the hill, but we had to go in groups of four , go figure, so we went for a walk into the park and spotted a western couple and sure enough the same thing had happened to the so we all went up the hill together, nice views of the city and a big mountain further north at 5500 m and near where I was headed next. Stocked up on food at a supermarket with fixed marked prices, yay for China as I was doing some hiking the next day. Went to the pub again (The sexy tractor) with a group of peps from Mama Naxis. In the morning caught a minivan with Dorit and Eyal (Israli couple) out to Tiger leaping gorge.
