Antakya (Hatay) (Antioch), Turkey

Had a good border crossing, the bus was pretty empty but then again it did not need passengers to make money. Fuel is about 40 pence a litre in Syria and over 1 pound in Turkey so all the bus has to do is fill up in Syria then flog all excess gas in Turkey.

Antakya is more like Syria than Turkey, the people are much friendlier than your average Turk. not surprising considering it was in Syria before it got given to Turkey after world war two. Its a nice size city to around 120,000 which in my opinion is the perfect size for a city, has all the shops and amenities that you need without being to spread out and crowded. Visited a mosaic museum while here it was good. Only stayed one night here before gaping out to Cappadocia.
