Lake Bled, Slovenia

Had a good train ride from Venice to Gorizia on the Italian/ Slovenian border, its was supposedly a 30 min walk across the border to Nova Gorica, but I got a little sidetracked finding food and got a little lost so it took about an hour and a half, wandered across the border, no one was even there, typical EU crossing. The ride up the valley to Bled was nice, very scenic.

Found a hostel in Bled and had a few beers with some young Brits. Headed out to lake Bohinj the next day and did a full day hiking up into the Julian Alps, making use of my new hiking boots. Some stunning views of Lake Bohinj, Mt Triglav and the surrounding range.

The next day got up early and wandered around the lake and climbed up to a view point before jumping on a bus to the capital.
