Split, Croatia

Quite a big town, in fact the second biggest in Croatia, right on the water on the Dalmatian coast. The main sight to see is the Diocletian's Palace built by the Roman emperor Diocletian to retire in. While wandering about here I ran into Perrie Topia, who was in my form at Dargaville High School. Pretty random and shows how small the world is these days. Had an ok time in split, went out to a few bars, did a fair amount of swimming from the pebble and concrete beaches. Finding Croatia quite pricey and rammed full moneyed tourists so decided to cut short my visit and so skipped the islands and headed straight to Dubrovnik further down the coast towards Montenegro.
