Its tourist central here, well set up for the traveller. I arrived at 2pm on my first day and was picked up from the bus station by my guest house, I'm staying in converted Nissen huts left over from the British army they are now rooms and dorms. Checked in and walked into town for lunch then a walk up a near by mountain up to 1850m was a steep climb over roots on a well used track. The view from the top was a bit obscured by clouds. The walk down was interesting caught up with a couple of dudes from Dutch Belgium and followed them on a random mission down a network of trails, it started to piss down which made things pretty interesting. Got back to Tanah Rata about 1 1/2 hours later, all in all about 3 1/2 hours of walking.
My second day was a tour of the cottage industries around the area, checked out a rose garden, a butterfly farm, a tea plantation, a honey farm, a strawberry farm and a Chinese Buddhist temple. Was a nice tour, the fresh Tea I had was good, strawberry ice cream excellent, but the butterfly farm was the best, had some cool bugs there as well I held a big horned beetle. Some cool people on the tour as well which always helps to make tour more enjoyable.

Go up in the morning and hit the road heading up to Penang to catch back up with James and Hayden. Took a different road off the mountain was just as impressive as the way up, this time with a crazy bus driver though. Changed buses in Ipoh and jumped off at Butterworth and caught the ferry across as the bus station on Penang is out of Georgetown now.
