More Paradise

Well I'm now sunburned and well snorkeled. Had a 7 hr bus trip up to the top of Malaysia where we bailed off the bus at an intersection that led to the jetty that led to another tropical getaway, after 30 Min's in taxi an hour waiting and half an hour in a 400hp speedboat we were transferred to a dingy which transferred us to Palau Perentian Kecil (Palau is Island and Kecil is small). Where we spent 5 days in the sun.

The beaches there are postcard perfect and the food is expensive. We stayed in a couple of chalets (more like box room with attached bath), with power only via generator from 7pm to 11:30pm. The water visibility was wicked, 20+ meters, and had some decent coral and fish life. On our first snorkel we saw a green turtle, a black tipped reef shark and stingray. Have also seen a bump headed Parrot fish which was huge 1.5m by 1m in depth.

Spent most of our time there relaxing, reading and swimming. Of note we did a day snorkeling trip around the Island, which included shark point with lots of black tipped reef sharks all around 1.5m, then on to turtle bay where some large green turtles were cruising about. Then lunch at a fishing village complete with goats which entered the restaurant and ate tissues which Hayden fed them. After the feed we motored out to an off shore light house which we jumped off was a good 9m drop, ripped off half a toenail on the ladder, thems the brakes. Then to a nice beach for a relax before heading home.

We are now in Kota Bahru an ordinary Malay city in which we are stopping over before we head down the Jungle railway tomorrow morning on the way to Taman Negara which translates to National Park. In which I hope to drag the guys trekking.
