Ko Phi Phi

Go a boat from Ao Nang to Ko Phi Phi (PP), was a nice trip stopping off at Railay Beach on the way. On PP we managed to get a reasonably cheap room near the beach. The Weather there was wicked, sunny clear days the whole time we were there. First night out and I drank 2 buckets and 5 beers so was cained, went for a swim in my cargo shorts passed out on the beach, threw up etc. made it back to our room with all my money which was good. Written off for the whole next day. Night life was good on PP with live bands, fire shows and Thai boxing a nightly thing.

Lots of new buildings there compared to when I was there last in August 2005. Loads of new restaurants, accommodation and even a Seven Eleven. As well as a bank and shite loads of new ATMs. PP would rate as the nicest tropical island I've been to yet, good beaches, solid snorkeling, good nightlife, small and easy to get around, with stunning scenery and huge carst cliff formations.

Did a boat tour out to PP Lay sister island to PP but uninhabited, good snorkeling also visited a few other islands and beaches. Rented a Kayak with Hayden and James and went on our own cliff jumping expedition, jumped off a 18m sea cliff was great, I had to go first though. The water feels a bit harder than at 10m. Landed it well but slapped my hand which was sore for a while. Cost us 400B for 3 hours of kayak hire, when the proper cliff jumping tour costs 600B per person.

Its a bummer we had to leave but our visa runs out on the 30th so wanted to check out Phuket before doing a run to the Thai/ Myanmar(Burma) at Ranong on the way to Bangkok.
