Savanaket

Arrived in town about 4:00 pm. Just to late to make it to the bank, caught a moto thing (was a cross between a Tuk Tuk and a motorbike) to a guesthouse checked in and went for a wander around town, was supposedly the second biggest town in Laos but after Vietnam it felt tiny. Had an early dinner and went on the web during my wandering. Back at the guest house met a couple of Aussies, Chris and Dave from Adelaide and went for a wander with them. That night chilled at the guesthouse as there is no nightlife in Savan. Played some cards with the two Aussies and an Italian girl. The next day I went for another walk and took some photos of the old colonial buildings and the mighty Mekong River, which on the far bank is Thailand. Around lunch time we all caught a bus South to Pakse.
