Nong Khiaw

Got a ride out to the bus station, still hungover but not nearly as bad as the day before and caught a Truck up to Nong Khiaw. Fun times, the truck was packed and id been out drinking till 3am in the morning and got up at 7am. Windy roads as well. Rocked into town around lunch time, not nearly as many tourists. only had a few days to my visa expired so did a walk that afternoon out along the highway amongst the big Rock formations similar to the ones around Vang Vieng. Visited the Pha Thok caves. Villages lived in these caves during the Indochina war, also the the provincial bank was set up in another cave nearby, after that went for a wander along the highway through a few minority villages, where all the little kids kept asking me for pens... cheers all you nice types, they probably sell or swap them for lollies. All up including the return walked about 14km but all on the highway so was a nice stroll. Had another Indian for dinner, no not a man just the food. My 6th in Laos.

Planned to carry on to Sam Neua the next day which is on the way to the Na Meo/ Nam Xoi border crossing that I planned to take into Vietnam.
