Made it into town after the big run from Dali, had met a couple of Canadians in Guilen when we got off the train, they decided to come to Yangshao as well so ended up staying at the same guesthouse as them and met them in the morning to go for a bike ride around the surrounding area. Hired some real mountain bikes, 21 speed with brakes and gears that work oh yeah. Then off along the highway to Moon Hill, a big limestone outcrop like the ones id seen in Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. But this one has a big hollow in the top of it shaped like a cresent moon, was impressive and not only that you could climb to the top of it, which we did, the views from the top were nice, but were a little hazy as the weather in this region at this time of the year was poos. After that we took a side trail and off through the paddy fields on our bikes, crusized through some nice landscape and some nice little villages as well. Spent he whole day cycling around, eventually we split up as I didnt want to backtrack and I ended up getting back into town knackered and in the dark.
Will try to update more later, big eartquake near Taiwan has made the net fuckin slow....
