Prague

I day down and I'm knackered, been seeing the sights and dodging the millions of other tourists seeing the sights. Loads of people about especially around Prague Castle and Charles bridge. Managed to get up early and get a jump on most though. Prague castle was pretty impressive, especially the main church complex. The view from the top tower was worth the mad climb up 220 odd steps in a spiral staircase that is bairly wide enough for 2 people.

Also checked out some museums and had a good wander around the city centre, brought a jersey as it is coldish here and is raining now :(. Tracked down some cheap eats and am now keen for a beer. Will try to keep you all up to date with what I'm up to, laters.

Day two and I changed my dorm room as there was way to much road noise, the two dutch guys in it last night woke up at 1am and went out to a strip joint and came in at 6am and proceeded to throw up out the window onto the street, nice dudes but. Went for a walk around the city and brought a couple of things that I never got around to buying in London. Then went up to Vysehrad and checked out the church and ramparts there was nice with good views of Prague and the river. Also went up the Petrin tower, it tested my dislike of heights but had wicked views of the city. Then on the way down it pissed down and I got soaked.

Had a meal outside the main train station at about 10:30pm, was interesting watching all the dodgy goings on, its sweet as everyone seems to think I'm Czech. Weird at times as well, first time Ive been in a non English speaking country where I look like the locals. When shopping people assume I speck Czech, till I crack in with my kiwi accent. Enjoying the cheap and good quality Czech beers, Pilsner Urquell, Budvar, Staropramen etc. About 30 crowns (1 NZ is 14 crowns) for 500ml in a bar and 10 crowns at the super market. Weird converting currency I think in Pounds now.

Day three and I jumped on a train out to Kunta Hora 130 crowns return (yay for no British rail prices) Which is about an hour east of Prague. Visited the Sedlec Ossuary, which is a monastery with bones of people decorating the inside, you have to see it to beleive it, weird. A chandelier made from at least one of every bone in the human body, bone pyramids and skulls decorating the roof. The old part of town was nice, a few tourists about but not to bad. The main church here is impressive as well. Jumped on a train back to Prague and ended up standing, oh well ive done it before. Got hammered on cheap beer, met loads of people, including the first kiwis ive met over here 2 couples from Auckland, good to here bro used in everyday conversation again.

Day four, the old hangover made me decide to stay in Prague for another day. Its sunny and I walked until I got myself very lost, love doing it, get to see loads and then the fun of finding a landmark etc. Booked my ticket to Dresden which is about 200km away in Germany, going to catch up with Daniel a mate from High School and Uni.
