Bucharest

Romania's capital city with a pop of 2.1 million. Its a bit of a ex communist crumbling concrete jungle mixed with old and older buildings. Pavements are cracked and breaking up with large holes everywhere. The roading infrastructure is rubbish and traffic jams are the norm. Large ugly grey apartment blocks are everywhere. Loads of stray dogs roam the back alleys and lanes.

But it also has the second largest building in the world and a really nice main drag lined with trees and fountains, plus Romanian girls have to be amongst the hottest in the world. old Churches are scattered and hidden amongst the apartment blocks. The night life is cranking and beer, food and accommodation are cheap.

Enjoyed my time here in this random city. Got out and about and have packed alot into the last few days, museums, drinking, eating out, clubbing, 10 pin bowling again, wandering the back streets and the old town, discovering random churches, photographing the big palace of Parliament and the highlight was the 'white night' festival on sat night, was carnage, they beamed massive images on the side of the palace and had really weird interpretive dance, a giant Preying Mantis, jumping stilt people and loads of other far out stuff. An easy 100,000 people were out and about.

Heading to Sofia tonight on the overnight train.
