Alexandria

Caught a bus with James up to Alex which is still a big city with a population of 4 mill. But its thin and long hugging the Mediterranean coastline. Was going to catch a train but the computers broke at the ticket office so walked to the bus station... fun, fun.

Got a double room with a balcony with a stunning view of the beachfront for 30 Egyptian Pounds (3 UK pounds). Was pretty dirty with hard beds, but there was a bottle shop a block away so slept ok.

Alex has a nice Palm lined promenade with dirty back streets. Visited the library of Alexandria, did not go inside as they had strict security measures and you had to pay. Found the people to be more friendly than Cairo and got helped out more times than we were hassled.

Rode lots of public transport, trams and service taxis. Was fun. Mainly came up to here to head out to Al Alamien.
