Amman

Not much to see or do in Jordan's capital city, big though at 1.8 million, has a citadel on top of a hill and a big theatre but neither is very impressive, good as a base to visit the surrounding area, Jerash, the dead sea etc and is the the transport link to Syria. Also has very good street food, bakeries (cheers to the French) and shopping.

Stayed in a good hotel with friendly staff and managed to get the hang of the public transport so did not spend much cash here. Which is always a plus.
