Brought our tickets in Nuweiba port at about 9am, cleared customs after a bit of baksheesh (tipping/bribing) and fucking about, then sat around for fucking ages in a shitty departures hall before catching a bus to the ferry at about 3pm on which we sat till 5pm before we left the docks. The 50km trip only took 2 1/2 hrs, but then we sat in the fucking harbour off Aquaba for a long time, we finally made it through customs at 11pm, which were a breeze as we were the only foreigners dumb enough to take the ferry that day and we were escorted though by Jordanian custom dudes who kept saying lets go New Zealand lets go and by passed all the ques.
Found an ok hotel and had a walk around town in the morning, which was a pretty pleasant town for a port city. Nice water frontage with a few small beaches and a giant flag. Seemed alot cleaner than Egypt.
