Had a good border crossing into Syria, got transported over the border in a share taxi, a brand new E class Mercedes , sweet. Cruised at 140km for alot of the way, bit of a change from old smoky minivans. Stamped out of Jordan no probs, 5JD postage stamp was required though. The Syrian entry formalities were pretty shambolic, it involved lots of leg work between a few different booths, 11 postage stamps and $60US dollars each, but we made it in....sweet.
Had an altercation with a taxi driver in town, fun, fun, ended up ok, virtually all Syrians are very helpful and friendly, taxi drivers let the side down though. Not alot to see in Damascus, it has an ok old city some large covered markets and a big mosque, was more about the culture. A bit cold though and our first rain in 6 weeks.
