Decided to stay on the west coast at Hat Yao (Long Beach) as it has a nice beach with OK snorkeling, a nice drop off and fine white sand lined by coconut trees and is not crazy crowded like the full moon party town of Hat Rin. Got a Bungalow for 400B (18 nz) and a Honda 110 step through motorbike each, then proceeded to do the usual Island thing of kicking back and relaxing, the Hammocks on our Bungalow deck got a good works out as did my pasty skin colour (which is still pasty ;)), much swimming and snorkeling got done as well.
We had arrived on the 2nd and the full moon was not till the 9th so had some time to relax. decided to keep staying at Hat Yao and to mission over to the Party when it happened. I managed to get a solid dose of food poisoning leading up to the party so was going to give it a miss but at the last moment decided to go, was worth it, had a good ride over with a load of different people from Hat Yao. Chopped a bucket (Hip flask of whisky, bottle of red bull and a can of coke) and was good to party, had not eaten all day and was fairly dehydrated but so had to take it fairly easy. Hayden and James had a ball as well. Was a crazy amount of people there crammed onto the beach, by 2am was looking like a D Day beach though as the alcohol started to drop people, buckets are a weapon goes down so easily.
All in all a good time had by all.
