Pontorson and Mont Saint Michel

Intended on heading here early but the French transport workers decided they didn't like there 5 weeks paid vacation and there 55 years old retirement packages. So ended up sitting in the railway station in Bayeux talking shit with a group of travellers in the same predicament.

Ended ok as met a nice American couple and caught the afternoon train with them to Pontorson which is the jumping off point for Mt St Michel, Frances third most popular tourist sight, an Abby and walled town set on a tidal Island. Stayed a night with the Americans, Watched the France vs Argie game and had fun explaining the rules of rugby Union. Had a sit down meal at the hotels restaurant, my first and only in France (yes im a cheapskate).

Headed out to the Mount the next day. it makes a pretty spectacular view. Did all the usual stuff, went inside and had a look around, walked around the outside, took photos, played in quicksand etc.
