Got back to Cairo via train from Alex and dumped our bags in left luggage and jumped in the subway and popped out in Coptic Cairo once known as Babylon. Checked out the Coptic museum which was far more interesting than anticipated, and a Coptic church.
We both were feeling a bit under the weather thanks to a dodgy shawema (kebab) that we had eaten in Alex after a few beers.
Caught the overnight train of fridge (super cold air con) down to Aswan, 13 hours south on the Nile river, on which we met a good Aussie bloke called Matthew from Perth.
